To Qualify for this course you must: Hold a full Class 1 Licence (Car). (Because of the serious responsibility that goes with this endorsement candidates must have reasonable reading and writing ability.) Length of Course: After some study at home, it can take as little as ONE DAY at Mainland to complete your course. This will be OPEN-BOOK and you will have a trained assessor with you for the day to facilitate a relaxed, enjoyable learning environment. Course Dates: Weekly and every second weekend. Study Materials: When you book your training day at Mainland we will send you out some study notes to start your course. You should read over these notes before you come, which will prepare you well for the assessment day at Mainland. During the assessment day you will be allowed to refer to these notes so you do not need to memorise them, however you should try to be familiar with them. If there is anything you don't understand or you need any help at all, please feel free to call our assessors on 0800 GET LICENCE. We are here to help! Resources: On the day you will receive a Dangerous Goods Segregation Wheel to keep, and the use of a Dangerous Goods Handbook. This Handbook can be purchased at end of the course if desired. Outcomes: The course is based on Unit Standard 16718. After completing the course you will receive a NZTA approved certificate showing you have demonstrated competency in Unit 16718. You have only 60 days to get this endorsed onto your licence at the AA or VTNZ after the date of certification.
